Technical Bulletin: TekTuff™ Improves Cold Impact

Rotomolders face a dilemma when it comes to color. The most cost effective method of coloring their parts is to buy blends of raw pigments referred to as dry color. However dry color is known to cause some physical property loss when used in higher loadings. Use of dry color can yield unacceptable impact resistance; a key performance metric for the Rotational Molding Industry.

The alternative, pulverized precolored compounds, allows processors to use a higher pigment loading while retaining physical properties; but this comes at a much higher cost. Recently Teknor Apex's Color Division developed a third option: improved performance without the huge cost penalty of pulverized precolored compound.
