Flexalloy® PVC Elastomers

Flexalloy PVC Elastomers offer resilient performance in extreme temperatures and harsh environments. This family of compounds extends the performance of flexible PVC by providing improved abrasion resistance, chemical and oil resistance, and low temperature flexibility. Compression set resistance, rapid spring-back, and hot melt strength are other advantages of Flexalloy®. These compounds are available in very soft formulations as low as 35 Shore A and process well on standard PVC equipment.

Flexalloy® PVC Elastomers for Healthcare

Flexalloy® elastomers are ideal for medical applications because of their compression set resistance, rapid spring-back, and hot melt strength. These compounds can be used for peristaltic pump tubing, resuscitator bags, non-kink tubing, blow-molded parts, and other demanding applications.

Designed for a broad range of tubing and injection molding applications, our Flexalloy compounds are formulated using the latest in non-orthophthalate plasticizers including TOTM, ATBC (Citrate).

Medical device manufacturers around the globe turn to Teknor Apex year after year for product innovations, reliability, and quality. Our Medical Grade Flexalloy PVC Elastomers lead the industry on all fronts: Non-DEHP plasticizer options, color hold after Gamma and E-Beam sterilization, and ultra-clear tubing and parts that result from decades of formulation and manufacturing expertise. Teknor Apex Medical Flexalloy PVC Elastomers are formulated with FDA 21 CFR ingredients and are designed to meet a wide range of global regulatory requirements, including EU REACH SVHC, EU MDR, EU ROHS 1, 2 & 3, and CA PROP 65. Our compounds (see product families below) are formulated to be ADM compliant, BPA, and LATEX free, and come with biocompatibility test data for USP CLASS VI and ISO 10993-5 Cytotoxicity.

Our newest Non-DEHP compound series are pre-compliant with global standards and enable device manufacturers to reduce their time to market. These standard product families are readily available on a global basis from our international production and sales network in North America, Asia and Europe. These compounds assist with fast approval cycles with their full array of physical property, biocompatibility, and regulatory test data. Expedited sample turn-around time supports rapid prototyping and keeps your projects moving through the validation process.

Applications

Drainage & Irrigation

Flexalloy elastomers have enhanced mechanical properties which enable them to perform well in applications requiring resistance to deformation and kinking. These compounds are easily processed in standard PVC extrusion and molding equipment.

Infusion

When designing components for an infusion application where a product may undergo repeated compression and release cycles, selecting the right material is paramount. Flexalloy elastomers ensure that a product will not lose shape and will maintain consistent flow rate where traditional materials allow the flow rate to decay after extended use.

  • Blood Transport & Delivery Tubing
  • Dialysis Tubing
  • Enteral Feeding Systems
  • Catheter Tubing
  • Drip Chambers
  • Peristaltic Pump Tubing
