For nearly 65 years, our customers have turned to us for high-grade wire and cable compounds that perform in demanding applications. Our lab creates economical formulations, too.
It’s all about matching performance requirements to cost.
This is what inspired our 58600 Series in the Halguard range of halogen-free, flame retardant (HFFR) compounds for general-purpose jacketing of cable – ideal for use in subway, mass transit, cell tower, and other infrastructure applications as well as internal wiring in electrical and electronic equipment.
Now we’re unveiling the newest additions to the Halguard family of compounds, featuring enhanced flame retardance and low shrinkage:
- Halguard 58610 and 58615 have UL-94 ratings of V-0 for 1/16 in. (1.59 mm) thick specimens, and oxygen indices of 52 and 45%, respectively. Both enable passing the UL-1685 FT-4 and UL-1666 riser flame tests for more complex cable constructions
- Halguard 58620 provides the low level of post-extrusion shrinkage that is important for fiber optic cable applications and enables passing the UL-1685 flame test
For highly competitive applications, all of these compounds cost less than premium grades with little compromise in performance properties.
